Sin Muros: A Borderless Teatro Festival @ Stages
Every February, Stages celebrates the range of Latinx voices and stories reflecting the diversity of local Texas communities. The 3rd annual Sin Muros Latinx Theatre Festival will happen this February. Tintero Projects is a co - organizing partner focusing on providing poetry and a literary fair during the weekend festival. Poetry readings occur daily in-between staged readings. The festival weekend will be filled with public events for audiences and local theatre-makers, including workshops and networking opportunities.
The 5th annual Sin Muros Festival features developmental workshop readings of new plays by Texas playwrights Karen Alvarado, Adrienne Dawes, Alicia Margarita Olivo, and Josie Nericcio . To find out more about each play, please click on the title of each play or play reading.

SIN MUROS ART MARKET
Tintero Projects hosts the ART MARKET, which features a variety of local literary organizations, Latinx artists, performance poetry teams, publishing houses and book sellers. At the marlet you can expect to find Inprint poetry buskers who will write poems "on demand" in English or Spanish, several local arts and community organizations all waiting for you to visit.

Ekphrasis as Work-share: Adapting Classical Art into Narrative
Sunday, February 20, 11:00am–1:00pm
Join playwright Adrienne Dawes for an exploration of adaptation modeled through 2 recent projects: Dawes' play "Casta" an adaptation of 17th century casta paintings and "This Bitch: Esta Sangre Quiero," her Gen Z adaptation of the Golden Age epic "El perro del hortelano" by Lope de Vega. This workshop will include generative writing exercises that draw inspiration from comedia and classic art. SIGN UP HERE
SIN MUROS EDUCATOR’S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT -
Storytelling + the Language of Space

Join Texas Poet Laureate, Lupe Mendez, as educators work a two hour workshop - STORYTELLING + the LANGUAGE of SPACE. Educators will use a snippet of EASTER SUNDAY AT THE JUAREZ FLOWER SHOP as a way to jump into a conversation about storytelling and its connection to space, time, setting and oral history as inroads to crafting narrative and nonfiction hybrid writing. SIN MUROS FESTIVAL POETRY
Every year during the festival, Tintero Projects collaborates with Stages to set the tone for the brilliant work of the playwrights, directors, cast and crew with a short poetry performance. Selected poets present a 5 minute poetry performance that allows the audience to settle into their seats and enjoy a night of teatro and magic.
